The Navy taught me how to be a better leader by showing me the importance of putting my team first. Leadership wasn’t about rank or authority—it was about responsibility.

It meant listening, advocating, and making sure the people you lead have what they need to succeed, even when it’s hard or uncomfortable.

That lesson stayed with me and fundamentally changed how I support my teams, both in and out of uniform.
