Role Purpose

The Business Manager-Student Accounts, under the general direction of the Vice Dean of Finance and Administration will have management oversight for the operations of the Student Accounts functions related to student billing, cash management, loan disbursement and reconciliation, and all student collection activities. The role will also lead cross-functional projects related to retention and its impact on revenue.


  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of accounting transactions in compliance with federal, state, College, and BJC HealthCare regulations, policies, and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Prepare various regulatory reporting requirements including audit, tax, program cost reporting, and surveys (IPEDS). Liaise with external and internal auditors to meet auditors’ objectives. Create, setup and generate all student charges, producing all statements and e-billing to students and parents and issuing of 1098-T tax documents.
  • Perform data-mining related to student hours, Tuition and Fees, Department of Education financial aid disbursements, student demographics, etc. for cost/pricing analyses, management decision-making, completion of surveys, federal scholarship Data Collection Worksheet, etc.
  • Perform “system lead” responsibilities in maintaining Accounts Receivable and Finance modules of the Banner student-system. Determine best practices including system setup for Tuition and Fee assessments and general ledger reporting. Coordinate with other College departments responsible for the Banner Student and Financial Aid modules.
  • Develops financial models that analyze financial and operational impact of new program revenue growth.
