BJC Healthcares' Clinical Engineering (Clinical Asset Management) team provides operational support and maintenance management of diagnostic, treatment, and patient support technologies.  Specific service areas include, Medical equipment planned maintenance services, Medical equipment demand and corrective maintenance services, Operational support for functions employing medical technology, Support of Risk Management and EH&S functions, Technology asset management support, acquisition and disposal, Technology maintenance contract management, Technology capital project planning and management.


Overview


Role Purpose

Under general direction, modifies/maintains complex existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from the vendor or performs software development tasks using industry-standard tools and techniques. Consults directly with vendors, clinical and business users, and provides second and third-tier support to end users to ensure reliable application system availability and performance. Performs performance assurance inspections, installation, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of Critical Enterprise level server farms and specialized radiology systems. Frequently serves as liaison between BJC Infrastructure and vendor technical contacts.


Responsibilities

  • Schedules and performs preventive maintenance, performance assurance testing, electrical safety inspections, and schedules repairs to correct failed
    equipment.
  • Repairs and calibrates equipment and devices to bring them up to the original manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Provides in-service education and customer service to staff on equipment operation and safety.
  • Conducts analyses to identify symptoms, definition of problems, option comparisons, appropriate solutions, implementation, and evaluation of results. Works with Sr. PACS Analysts to develop and monitor back up and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Performs daily quality control operations on patient records. Maintains PACS hardware from a desktop to server infrastructure.
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
