    BJC Home Care offers patients and their families a complete range of home care services, including skilled nursing services, adult and pediatric hospice and supportive care, rehabilitation therapy, home infusion therapy, infusion treatment rooms, home medical equipment and high-tech respiratory care. Specialty home care programs also are available, including adult and pediatric asthma, cardiac, diabetes, orthopedic and wound care programs as well as the Lifeline emergency response system. BJC Home Care provides care to thousands of patients in both Missouri and Illinois.     The Home Infusion Therapy Department of BJC Home Care Services works closely with physicians, patients and caregivers to enable patients to remain or return home while receiving intravenous medications. Our services include 24 hour on-call pharmacy and nursing services, comprehensive patient education materials, patient assessment and drug administration monitoring, and coordination of professional services including home care nursing and laboratory services.


    Role Purpose

    The Operations Coordinator (Infusion) serves as the primary contact and liaison between infusion nursing, pharmacy, home care, therapy & ancillary and support departments. This position collaborates with all levels of management to coordinate the business, administrative and operational functions necessary to achieve successful outcomes related to patient care for specialty pharmacy patients. This position also coordinates the collection of required data for the various specialty medications. Additionally, the Operations Coordinator (Infusion) schedules infusions at the various centers, as well as at home and the treatment rooms.


  • Collaborates with directors, managers and other disciplines to plan and implement all projects related to the infusion of traditional and specialty medications.
  • Schedules patient treatments at the various locations, to include home, treatment room, infusion center or physician office; administers medications in the various locations as necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with established regulatory guidelines; handles required quality assurance activities and reporting; assists in the implementation of work plan strategies and process improvement initiatives.
  • Serves as the communication liaison between nursing and pharmacy departments, as well as patients and families for the coordination of care and services provided.
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
