The Physician Services/Business Development department supports the needs of the Medical Staff and provides a single point of contact. Our goals include closely aligning members of the Medical Staff with Missouri Baptist as well as physicians not on staff with Missouri Baptist through promotion of services and physician expertise, providing continuing medical education, developing and promoting a work comp panel of physicians. In addition, our staff works with outlying hospitals and their medical staffs to bring physician services to the local community and provide critical linkages for needed health care services with Missouri Baptist. As a business development department, our staff supports service lines throughout the hospital in working to grow volumes through physician strategies.


Role Purpose

Responsible for increasing patient referrals/admission and also positioning the program for overall growth and development.


  • Develops new physician relationships and increases referrals from split referral practices and contacts with loyal referring physicians to help maintain a positive referral relationship.
  • Seeks out and implements other activities directly related to building utilization.
  • Identifies and targets appropriate physician practices for increased referrals to the hospital or service organization.
  • Collaborates with departments in identifying key opportunities for the team.
  • Develops and implements a sales plan for the various departments and territories.
