The Child Care Center develops and maintains a professional early childhood education program. The department is responsible for the general classroom management of children creating a ""hands on"" learning environment that addresses the child's individual needs - socially, emotionally, cognitively and physically.


Overview


Role Purpose

Supervises and implements the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Childcare Center by providing leadership to staff and supervising daily operations.


Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Plans, organizes, and implements the delivery of a child-centered learning environment which supports the child's developmental, physical, and educational needs.
  • Ensures a safe and developmental environment for all children, families, and staff. Ensures compliance with all program and regulatory guidelines and policies.
  • Oversees continual quality, financial, and operational improvement of the program.
  • Establishes professional community relationships, including referral and social service organizations.
  • May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
