Overview


Role Purpose

The Coding Education Coordinator is responsible for developing and providing coding education for the Enterprise Coding staff. This position serves as a subject matter expert, providing guidance on documentation integrity in order to support compliant coding. This position also conducts pattern/trend analysis and identifies educational opportunities.


Responsibilities

  • Develops and provides education to the Enterprise Coding staff.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for Enterprise Coding; proactively identifies issues or trends and reports to coding leadership as appropriate.
  • Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI), Quality, Compliance and other departments as appropriate.
  • Assists in reviewing medical record documentation to ensure that assigned coding and abstracting is complete and accurate.

    Degree

  • 2-5 years

  • RHIT, CCS or CPC
