Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital offers full inpatient services, including 24-hour physician-staffed emergency, pediatric, obstetric and intensive-care coverage. The hospital also has a Siteman Cancer Center location on campus.

Overview


Role Purpose

Provides administrative support, direction and leadership for the Facility Services functions including Plant Engineering, Clinical Engineering, Environmental Services, Facility Systems, Security, Safety and other support functions.


Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Sets strategic direction and ensures necessary resources are in place to support each departments' goals.
  • Ensures all support services departments operate according to environmental and regulatory compliance codes and guidelines to protect the organization from liability, licensure and accreditation deficiencies and penalties.
  • Supports and promotes performance improvement and cost containment initiatives.
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
