BJC Home Care Services offers patients and their families a complete range of home care services, including skilled nursing services, adult and pediatric hospice and supportive care, rehabilitation therapy, home infusion therapy, infusion treatment rooms, home medical equipment and high-tech respiratory care. Specialty home care programs also are available, including adult and pediatric asthma, cardiac, diabetes, orthopedic and wound care programs as well as the Lifeline emergency response system. BJC Home Care Services provides care to thousands of patients in both Missouri and Illinois. Serving more than 25 counties, it has become the largest home care network in the region and one of the largest in the country.

The Home Medical Equipment Department of BJC Home Care Services offers quality medical equipment and services that our patients can purchase or rent. We offer equipment delivery and comprehensive training on the use of the equipment. The Home Medical Equipment Department also provides home respiratory equipment, supplies and services for patients who need home oxygen or other respiratory therapies, with staff that include registered therapists and other highly trained professionals.


Overview


Role Purpose

This leader has 24/7 responsibility for a $40M+ home medical equipment operation setting strategic direction and leading teams to deliver safe, reliable, customer centric, and quality care. Has administrative responsibility for the delivery of patient care and service of home medical equipment across two states. Develops operations within home medical equipment and across home care to ensure the highest level of safety, quality, teamwork, and efficiency. Develops and executes market strategy across home care division.


Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Provides leadership and strategic direction for Home Medical Equipment and Home Care service lines supporting overall BJC strategic plan and BJC ambulatory strategy. Partners with directors within Home Care to execute market growth across service lines.
  • Builds, creates, and sustains the infrastructure and efficient operations for Home Medical Equipment in accordance with the system’s strategic plan. Directs overall operations of home medical equipment and related services and programs. Evaluates, plans and implements ongoing changes to services, structure, and processes based on data and outcomes.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with providers, leaders, and suppliers. Ensures effective coordination and collaboration within home care, system, and external providers.
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
