    BJC Home Care offers patients and their families a complete range of home care services, including skilled nursing services, adult and pediatric hospice and supportive care, rehabilitation therapy, home infusion therapy, infusion treatment rooms, home medical equipment and high-tech respiratory care. Specialty home care programs also are available, including adult and pediatric asthma, cardiac, diabetes, orthopedic and wound care programs as well as the Lifeline emergency response system. BJC Home Care provides care to thousands of patients in both Missouri and Illinois.     The Home Infusion Therapy Department of BJC Home Care Services works closely with physicians, patients and caregivers to enable patients to remain or return home while receiving intravenous medications. Our services include 24 hour on-call pharmacy and nursing services, comprehensive patient education materials, patient assessment and drug administration monitoring, and coordination of professional services including home care nursing and laboratory services.


    Role Purpose

    Serves as the primary contact and liaison between pharmacy, infusion nursing, home care, therapy and ancillary and support departments. Collaborates with all levels of management to coordinate the business, administrative and operational functions necessary to achieve successful outcomes related to patient care for specialty pharmacy patients. Coordinates the collection of required data for the various specialty medications. Schedules infusions at the various centers as well as at home and the treatment rooms


  • Collaborates with directors, managers and other disciplines to plan and implement all projects related to infusion of traditional and specialty medications.
  • Schedules patient treatments at the various locations, whether it be home, treatment room, infusion center or physician office. Administers medications in the various locations when needed.
  • Ensures compliance with established regulatory guidelines, required quality assurance activities and reporting, and assist in the implementation of work plan strategies and process improvement initiatives.
  • Serves as the communication link between nursing and pharmacy departments as well as patients and families for coordination of care and services provided.
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
