    Alton Memorial Hospital, in Illinois, is a full-service acute-care hospital serving patients in a seven county area. Alton Memorial offers inpatient and outpatient services including surgery, imaging, rehabilitation and 24-hour emergency care.


    Overview

    Role Purpose

    This position provides direct patient care to support the licensed professional nurses responsible for a team of patients, ensuring a safe environment by reducing the risk of harm. By collecting vital information on the patient and reporting it to the RN, the PCT contributes to the overall assessment of each patient and any changes to their condition. This role is required to take the licensing exam within 90 days of graduation from an accredited school of nursing to remain employed in a HSO in the state of Illinois.

    Responsibilities

  • Integrates the service line within the hospital structure by working cooperatively with department directors and managers to design a coordinated service for patients and families.
  • Collaborates with physicians, product line team members and administrative staff to plan, assess, revise goals, objectives and strategies related to business development
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Provides leadership and oversight for outreach programs.
  • Participates in activities that promote safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development and life long learning.
