Analyzes ways to improve operations, and works proactively to integrate clinical, administrative, and IT solutions. Ensures ongoing support of existing IT systems to provide strong customer satisfaction. Responsible for effective project development and implementation which yield desired business results and the management of capital project scope, functionality, budgets, milestones, and workflow integration.


Overview

Role Purpose

The Director, Shared Services Platforms reports to the Vice President of Service Delivery and Solutions (e.g., Applications, Compute) and is responsible for overseeing service delivery, as delivered through a combination of internal BJC employees and Suppliers, supporting planning and implementation of change, financial management, and lifecycle management of the applicable platforms and/or applications. This role is key in assuring that BJC’s delivery agents (be they internal staff or Suppliers) support the organization effectively by delivering according to expectations, monitoring satisfaction of delivery of the services, driving service improvement, and understanding where gaps may exist in delivery agent capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Supports creation of overall roadmaps and shapes demand for platform consumption. Ensures platform strategies and teams align with business strategies, roadmaps and platform governance policies. Understands the value propositions of technology platforms supporting Shared Services business capabilities.
  • Influences design and consumption of platforms to align with platform strategies driving to lower cost of ownership and greater business capability. Maximizes the value of platforms by driving efficient models for supporting the daily operations and growth of shared services platforms.
  • Manages the delivery of services and performance, and leverage SLAs to drive resolution for service issues. Has ownership and oversight of teams supporting the platforms, escalations and technical outcomes. Manages both internal and supplier led service delivery teams.
  • Establishes and sustains a service delivery management practice that delivers on desired business expectations, success factors (e.g. KPI’s) and performance characteristics for assigned services (e.g., end user satisfaction with services).
