BJC Home Care Services offers patients and their families a complete range of home care services, including skilled nursing services, adult and pediatric hospice and supportive care, rehabilitation therapy, home infusion therapy, infusion treatment rooms, home medical equipment and high-tech respiratory care. Specialty home care programs also are available, including adult and pediatric asthma, cardiac, diabetes, orthopedic and wound care programs as well as the Lifeline emergency response system. The BJC Home Care Services employees working at the Villa Rose assisted living facility in Bethalto, Illinois provide private services to the facility's residents which include bathing and personal hygiene assistance, medication reminders and geriatric case management.


Overview

Role Purpose

Provides a variety of multi-skilled direct patient care procedures, assistance and comfort measures under the direction and supervision of a registered healthcare professional.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and assists client with activities of daily living.
  • Collects various clinical data on clients, such as vital signs, temperature, and respiration.
  • Assists client and caregiver in using simple medical equipment.
  • Notifies professional nurse or nurse supervisor of deviations which could be found detrimental to the health and safety of the client.
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
