Role Purpose

Manages BJC’s talent management processes, including but not limited to designing and executing programs that support leadership assessment, succession planning, performance management, high potential development and executive onboarding and coaching. This position is aligned with and works in partnership with other HR functions on processes and programs that promote talent selection, internal movement and leadership diversity. The role provides information and direct support on an individual, group and organizational levels. The position reports directly to a Vice President within the HR shared services (corporate) function.


  • Works with key stakeholders to build acceptance and further the efficiency and effectiveness of talent management, performance management, and leadership development processes.
  • Designs and executes programming informed by organizational data and aligned with organizational strategy that delivers accelerated talent development and a pipeline of leaders at all levels.
  • Serves as an executive coach, while also managing executive coaching programs (both internal coaches and external consultants), offering leadership talent assessment for selection and development needs.
  • Leads the process of identifying internal talent for promotion, forming candidate slates of ready-now leaders, in coordination with talent acquisition colleagues.
  • In partnership with the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, co-leads efforts to identify, develop and promote leadership talent from under-represented populations so that BJC’s leadership team reflects the demographics of our community at all levels.
  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
