Boone Hospital Center is a 394-bed full service hospital located in Columbia, MO. It is a regional referral center located in the center of the state. The hospital provides progressive healthcare programs, services, and technology to people in 26 mid-Missouri counties. Although the hospital is full service, areas in which Boone Hospital Center excels are cardiology, neurology, oncology, surgical, obstetrical services, and numerous other specialties. The hospital maintains a 24-hour emergency center with hospital-based ambulance service and a helipad for incoming emergency air transportation. Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Boone Hospital Center has been certified as a "Magnet Hospital" by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Linen Services is responsible for the delivery of all linen items and the pick up of all soiled laundry. An outside laundry service cleans and processes linen and delivers them to the hospital six days a week. Linen Service staff separates and delivers clean linen and picks up, weighs and prepares soiled linen to be picked up by the outside laundry service. Linen Service staff also does some in house washing and drying of linen, wrapping and preparation of surgical linen packs and keeps track of rejected linen items.
Overview
Role Purpose Oversees daily management of medical material (supplies, equipment and linen) for multiple departments throughout the hospital and/or network. Primary duties will include supply room and warehouse cleaning and organization, department customer service, reviewing item par levels and usage with department leadership, bin optimization, material ordering, receiving and stocking, assisting with manufacturer recall notifications/usage investigations. Aids in training, mentoring and developing new Supply Technicians. Performs other duties as assigned. Senior Supply Techs should be able to perform all core competencies as well as assist in training, mentoring and development of Supply Techs.
