BJC Behavioral Health is a community health center that provides and coordinates behavioral health services for more than 6,000 seriously mentally ill adults and seriously emotionally disturbed children in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. François, Iron and Washington counties.  As an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH) serves as a major point of entry for people eligible for mental health services funded by DMH and is responsible for serving as gatekeeper to the public mental health system.  BJC Behavioral Health also administers the BJC Employee Assistance Program ad Behavioral Health Partners, an administrative services organization.


Role Purpose

Responsible for providing accurate and timely response to employee questions regarding benefits, Leaves of Absence, insurance and personnel policies. Also provides forms needed by employees.


  • Plans and coordinates hospital wide events (i.e., NEO, Awards, etc) and employee appreciation activities (i.e., Service Banquet, Hospital Week, et al)
  • Supports various administrative functions for Human Resources Business Partners:
    -Responsible for first-level or tier 1 support by responding to basic human resources policy, payroll and
    benefits questions and assisting employees with navigating the organization’s ERP self-service tool
    -Manage inquiries, requests and simple cases from department manager, HR Business Partners and HR
    Coordinators to closure & appropriately escalate complex cases.
  • Assist with coordinating and monitoring employees on workers comp and light duty
  • Serves as the local subject matter expert for all leave programs in alignment and under the general direction and guidance of HR Manager, ESC and the legal department. Coordinates administrative aspects of the cases and claims in partnership with the ESC. Works closely with the HR Business Partners to identify, research and resolve matters. Partners closely with all HR Business Partners on some leave cases that need additional intervention.
  • Administrative functions including but not limited to audits, front desk support, and GEMBA tracking.
