Overview


Role Purpose

Responsible for managing and supporting maxillofacial prosthodontic practice. Takes on leadership role in all phases of business management and supervises all personnel. As anaplastologist, fabricates all extra oral prosthetics for patients and develops prototypes as needed. As laboratory manager, manages and operates full service maxillofacial prosthetics laboratory. Supplies all dental laboratory support needed for practice.


Responsibilities

  • Fabricates all extraoral prosthetics; ears, eyes, noses, and partial face, for patients affected by trauma, birth anomalies, and ablative surgery. These are patients who are non surgical candidates for reconstruction.
  • Manages full service dental laboratory and supports prosthetic production for maxillofacial prosthodontists. Fabricates all appliances in house, excluding crown and bridge. Orders all supplies
  • Oversees complex billing and coding practices specific to maxillofacial prosthetics. Establishes and maintains charge codes for procedures and updates charges as needed. Oversees all office practices and transactions. Carries out bank deposits and transfers and provides end of month documentation to leadership. Provides quarterly metrics to BJH and Washington University for Safety, Quality and Service.
  • Consults with Dental and Medical staff on the design and build of prosthetics for non-surgical candidates for reconstruction.
  • Works with CAD/CAM computer systems to design and build implant prosthetics
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
