Overview
Role Purpose Responsible for supervision of the BJH main campus Sterile Processing Department (CSPD) and providing quality, efficient, cost-effective decontamination, sterilization, high level disinfection and distribution services with proper management of service utilization and inventory levels. Provides education and training support and oversees quality of all work. Able to problem solve equipment issues. Works as high functioning member of a team supporting clinics, procedural areas and over 65 operating rooms and clinics spread over a large campus. Over sees production of complex tray configurations for variety of services including ophthalmology, neurosurgery, ENT, trauma, transplant, cardiac, orthopedic, labor and delivery, fetal surgery, general surgery, minimally invasive and robotic cases and supports level 1 trauma center. Supervises a variety of functions which include decontamination, preparation, sterilization and distribution of sterile surgical instrumentation and supplies. Supervises case cart build for “just in time” supply and instrumentation delivery to the operating rooms. Provides cleaning and sterilization support for research related and IRB approved instrumentation. Over sees all decontamination and high level disinfection for flexible endoscopes.
