Overview

Role Purpose

Provides leadership for BJC Patient Placement, managing all patient flow activity across BJC Healthcare. Responsible for oversight of patient placement staff and services with emphasis on clinical quality, interdisciplinary engagement, operational efficiency, customer satisfaction and timely/accurate placement of patients across BJC Healthcare.

Responsibilities

Manages all patient placement and progression functions in a responsive manner responding to all callers with the aid of the electronic health record, approved clinical protocols, and established patient care protocols and healthcare information.

Works with all hospital (BJC and Non BJC) teams and key stakeholders on leading and facilitating efficient, timely placement of patients across the system.

Oversees data collection, monitoring, evaluation, and analyzing of patient placement for the purpose of developing and implementing protocols, policies, processes, and procedures.

Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.

Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
