Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital offers full inpatient services, including 24-hour physician-staffed emergency, pediatric, obstetric and intensive-care coverage. The hospital also has a Siteman Cancer Center location on campus.

 


Overview


Role Purpose

Assigns diagnosis and procedure codes to Emergency Department, Ambulatory Surgery and/or Interventional Radiology accounts using ICD-10 and CPT coding classification systems in compliance with coding guidelines.


Responsibilities

  • Performs accurate data entry by utilizing computerized abstracting system.
  • Meets production and quality standards for number of records coded and abstracted.
  • Adheres to established processes and procedures. Utilities coding resources.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision. Communicates timely and appropriately.

    Degree

  • High School Diploma or GED
