Overview


Role Purpose

Develops and creates communications materials for internal and/or external audiences to further the strategic goals and objectives of the organization. Projects may include newsletters, brochures, annual reports, other collateral materials, news releases, media relations, social media and web content.


Responsibilities

  • Develops communications materials and implements HSO communication plans to support organizational and departmental business plans for internal and/or external audiences. Demonstrates understanding of department/HSO communications objectives and creates plans for review by senior members of the C&M team. Implements approved communications plan objectives.
  • Conducts research, interviews, writes, obtains approvals, coordinates production of collateral materials, and coordinates distribution to audiences using appropriate communications vehicles, media outlets and social media channels. Works with creative services team and other support members to ensure alignment of communications collateral with plan objectives.
  • Collaborates with key internal and external clients and other partners to facilitate effective communications planning and execution. Includes C&M colleagues, HSO clients, community relations partners and/or news reporters, editors, photographers and others. Represents C&M department in meetings.
  • Develops and implements multimedia projects/campaigns, events/media relations plans for internal and external audiences. May include on-site coordination of media opportunities, interviews and productions. Sets and meets or exceeds all individual and team deadlines.
  • Recommends and executes improvement tactics based on assessment of metrics, including media placements and advertising equivalencies to measure effectiveness of campaigns/projects/events.
