Role Purpose

The Quality Specialist is a professional level position responsible for the design and implementation of a quality program to decrease inefficiencies, promote a culture of continuous improvement, and increase the focus on the customer value throughout the organization.

This position requires a thorough understanding and knowledge of quality / lean methodology and tools and the ability to guide and education team members to successful utilization, to ensure quality improvement initiatives are fully integrated throughout the organization.

This position will identify opportunities for improvement, plan, manage, and provide leadership of strategic and quality improvement initiatives with on-going performance measures to ensure adherence to defined objectives and timelines.

This develop a continuous improvement story board that provides the high level overview of the initiatives, goals, value gained, and status for monthly reviews and updates to senior leadership to promote awareness and engagement.

This position requires a proven ability to effectively communicate and foster collaboration to gain support cross functionally with a wide range of stakeholders.


  • Design and implementation of a quality program with standard templates, tools, and approach for process improvement. Maintained in a centralized system with access to team members to assist when focused on problem solving. Template to guide through methodology, root cause or impact analysis, and lead to effective decision and value gained, etc.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provide education and guidance on methodology and tools to team members during process improvement events, one on one meetings, team training sessions, etc. Maintain knowledge of best practices and continually update tools to assist team members with deeper knowledge of quality / lean methodology.
  • Review existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Lead and manage strategic and process improvement initiatives and ensure defined objectives, timelines and key milestones are achieved. This requires strong influencing and project management skills.
  • Provide oversight and analysis of data to identify trends, gaps, and develop preventive corrective action plans. Development of a story board that provides an overview of the initiatives, focus areas, measures, timelines, final completion to provide awareness and monitor progress.
  • Develop communications for updates to projects or successful completion and celebration events. Develop strong network to foster collaboration across BJC. Ensure appropriate engagement and support with upstream and downstream teams and their processes.
