Overview


Role Purpose

Provides overall coordination of the lung cancer screening program in collaboration with the medical director, hospital leadership, and physician specialists. Serves at the single point of contact for all physician offices and patients across all participating hospital locations. Fields all calls on the 1-800 number for participation in the program and qualifies all participants against NCCLS program criteria to determine eligibility for participation. Participates as a member of the Interventional team in both Pulmonology and Radiology performing bronchoscopy procedures and meeting patient care needs including both pre and post recovery.


Responsibilities

  • Works with the Medical Director and other physicians to identify and carry out the treatment plan.
  • Acts as a Patient Advocate helping to navigate patients through the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation process.
  • Serves as a resource to assist patients and families, other professionals and the community.
  • Provides education for the community and referring physicians.
  • Facilitate clinical protocols established by Medical Director(s).
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
