Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College is a private nursing college that enrolls¿over 600 students in¿its¿baccalaureate, masters and doctoral degree programs. Overview


Role Purpose

The Financial Aid Advisor develops outreach programs for current and prospective students, advises students and families of all financial resources available. Serves as the primary resource for packaging student accounts and maintaining all Title IV Higher Education Act eligibility requirements. Provides high level technical review and processing of institutional, state, and federal funds in compliance with all regulatory requirements. Monitors alternative loan certifications, disbursements, and the preferred lender list.


Responsibilities

  • Advises prospective, continuing and reentering students and parents of financial aid programs by counseling students and families on effective financial planning and budgeting to meet the cost of their education.
  • Matches and reviews student records with the Department of Education and Banner, performs a needs analysis, to evaluate eligibility, determine issues related to over awards, defaults, or overlapping loan periods and package financial aid award.
  • Advises students and families on Professional Judgments and Special Circumstances and gathers all necessary data to resolve duplicate borrower, and other reports provided by Department of Education regarding current and prospective students.
  • Provides a presentation to potential students and families during financial aid night and assures all incoming students have Financial Aid resources.
  • Collaborates with the Financial Aid Compliance Specialist to monitor students’ academic progress and continued financial aid eligibility.
