    Boone Hospital Center is a 394-bed full service hospital located in Columbia, MO. It is a regional referral center located in the center of the state. The hospital provides progressive healthcare programs, services, and technology to people in 26 mid-Missouri counties. Although the hospital is full service, areas in which Boone Hospital Center excels are cardiology, neurology, oncology, surgical, obstetrical services, and numerous other specialties. The hospital maintains a 24-hour emergency center with hospital-based ambulance service and a helipad for incoming emergency air transportation.  Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Boone Hospital Center has been certified as a "Magnet Hospital" by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
     

    The Volunteer Office is located on the first floor of the hospital. Volunteers are located throughout the hospital and provide many services to our patients, visitors and staff such as delivering plants & cards, assisting with wayfinding or acting as liaisons for staff & patients.  Members of our volunteer team play an integral role in providing quality, safe, patient-centered care.  Our Volunteer program is a collaboration with our Partners in Education Jefferson Middle School.  Our Ambassador program utilizes area college students.


    Overview


    Role Purpose

    This position would triage and assist with all patient compliments, complaints, and grievances while proactively rounding within each of your patient areas. This position would coordinate with our volunteers to ensure all volunteer activities are completed, to include patient rounding. This position would serve as a back-up for the gift shop coordinator as well as the Patient Experience and Volunteer Services Manager.


    Responsibilities

  • Provide depth for patient satisfaction data and reporting as well as process improvement initiatives throughout the hospital related to patient experience best practices.
  • Triages customer compliments and complaints/grievances, enters documentation into Feedback system, and provides follow-up as needed.
  • Completes daily rounding to troubleshoot and escalate patient concerns.
  • Coordinates volunteer activities to include assignments, scheduling, new volunteer on-boarding, and training.
  • Acts as a backup to the gift shop coordinator for all activities of the gift shop.
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
