Role Purpose

The purpose of this position is to provide daily management and oversight of the Evaluation and Analytics Coordinator staff and projects; and community benefit reporting for the entire hospital. Contribute to the achievement of CHAO department goals through the design, development, and implementation of program evaluation for the 11 programs and any new programs adopted by the department. Create and present reports to high-level audiences associated with SLCH and in the community. Manage and lead the community benefit tracking and reporting for the entire hospital for IRS requirements. Manage contracts, license renewals, and relationship with existing and new data software programs used for program evaluation (i.e. ETO, Penelope, Qualtrics, SPSS, etc.). Lead the Community Health Needs Assessment and implementation plan for the hospital. Mange the Internship Program for our department related to bachelor and graduate-level students. Assist in development of LEAN practices for the department related to data collection methodology.


  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Responsible for SLCH compliance associated with the hospital’s non-profit tax status related to community benefit reporting, ensuring all community benefit spending is reported accurately and in compliance with regulations. In addition, conduct the Community Health Needs Assessment and implementation strategies for SLCH required by the IRS. Create data collection toolkit, collect, analyze data. Create report findings. Create partnerships with existing hospitals. Lead the community benefit IRS reporting requirements for SLCH. Create a standard work process for collecting and reporting data across the hospital to report efforts to improve the health of the community. SLCH Liaison to the BJC Community Benefit Manager.
  • Data/Software Management: Assist in design and management of databases and software programs to monitor and evaluate outcomes for all department program outcomes. Participates in the design, implementation and oversight of data collection, management and analysis for program evaluation.
  • Innovation and Strategy: Identifies industry best practice tools and evaluation methods. Conducts literature reviews and appropriate analysis to identify or create validated evaluation tools. Contributes to strategic planning of program development through data analytics. Developing research protocols for Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions and monitor protocol implementation to ensure compliance.
  • Represent SLCH and BJC: Publishes and disseminates program findings in various formats, targeting specific audiences. Prepare and present reports to high-level audiences such as the SLCH Board of Trustees, SLCH Foundation, SLCH donors, and grant reporting requirements for private donors, private foundations, and for public funding sources such as Neighborhood Assistance Program tax-credits.
