Role Purpose

Responsible for administering financial operations specific to research and grant management. Administers the funds for accounting purposes for grants and sponsored projects and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders in the support of the college’s mission for the purpose of enhancing research program. Assists with the identification of grant opportunities through database searches, preparation of grant budgets and forms, and outreach to internal investigators.Responsible for managing the grant proposal process, interpreting relevant regulations, guidelines, and standards, and oversees the processing of contracts and/or grants. The individual should demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and experience working collegiality with faculty, staff, researchers and others involved in research projects.


  • Administers the grants process for the research department, assists principal investigators with applications, interprets grant guidelines, policies and regulations, reviews applications, prepares budgets and supervises budget entry into system ensuring completion and approval in timely manner.
  • Coordinates and monitors research funds with PI’s and ensures appropriate and timely expenditures and reconciliation of funds, makes necessary changes and assists principal investigators with fund management.
  • Acts as a liaison between PI, GMO, Washington University and Goldfarb School of Nursing in support of related grants submission and research programs.
  • Ensures compliance with federal and non-federal rules, regulations, policies or other requirements of granting organization. Reviews grant/contract applications and grant related correspondence for adherence to departmental, college and or Federal Guidelines.
  • Processes or approves purchases and reimbursements; Implements, and updates policies and procedures by maintaining information for compliance with the college and funding agencies.
