Boone Hospital Center is a 394-bed full service hospital located in Columbia, MO. It is a regional referral center located in the center of the state. The hospital provides progressive healthcare programs, services, and technology to people in 26 mid-Missouri counties. Although the hospital is full service, areas in which Boone Hospital Center excels are cardiology, neurology, oncology, surgical, obstetrical services, and numerous other specialties. The hospital maintains a 24-hour emergency center with hospital-based ambulance service and a helipad for incoming emergency air transportation.  Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Boone Hospital Center has been certified as a "Magnet Hospital" by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.


Role Purpose

Provides vision and strategic leadership for enterprise initiatives focused on process, organization, and technology. As the primary and lead Supply Chain Leader for each HSO, this role has direct accountability to develop and deploy supply chain strategy transformation across all business units within BJC. Establishes and monitors process KPIs and service level agreements to ensure maturity, including strategy governance, processes, systems, and technology to ensure we have delivered an optimization network on a continuous basis. Leads efforts across the country with other IDNs and industries in supply chain innovation. Leads strategic initiatives and programs to oversee complex, comprehensive supply delivery structure and design transformation including standardization of work activities, operating model to qualify and prioritize network projects, establish a cross-functional HSO strategy governance. Responsible for ensuring industry leading network design to exceed quality, service, cost (inventory, distribution, and transportation holistically), and customer experience performance results with process controls. Focuses on end to end supply chain visibility activities to ensure inventory optimization across the value chain and takes leadership role on tools, processes and practices throughout BJC.


  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Creates integrated processes among internal functions (e.g., receiving, distribution, warehousing, and point of use) and outside suppliers and distributors. Provide leadership and guidance in support of system, process and transformational projects that are scalable and sustainable.
  • Develop and implement plans and activities to drive working capital optimization, ensuring alignment to corporate and HSO goals and objectives. Identifies potential financial and operational risks and implements mitigation plans for more than $600 million in annual inventory spend in the HSO network.
  • Manages and develops a team of 200+ supply chain logistics professionals across the system; from Regional Managers down to front line employees across 15 hospitals. Design and adjust organizational structure to support current and future business unit requirements. Recruit and develop talent to support current and future state organizations. Build and maintain a highly inclusive and engaged culture with a focus on optimal organizational health.
  • Collaborate with and advise customers, distributors, and suppliers on optimizing the supply chain across the value chain, from suppliers, distributors, to point of use at the bed side. Identify value creation and capture opportunities to deliver savings / avoidance of costs.
  • Ensures the execution, deployment and continuous improvement of logistics processes, such as the replenishment system, data interchange systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration, and related functions.
