The Quality and Service Excellence Department promotes the vision of Christian Hospital. The scope of clinical quality includes, but is not limited to, on-going assessment of data to improve internal processes to enhance the quality of care provided to our patients, as a facility and from individual departmental levels. This assessment measures important hospital and departmental dimensions of performance as outlined by The Joint Commission (TJC) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Service Excellence promotes a culture based around customer support in an efficient, excellent, equitable and empowering manner. The Best-In-Class Scorecard, Emerging Trends Report Card, ORYX data reported through Quality Works and BJC Scores are the tools used to report quality and service measures.


Overview


Role Purpose

Provide leadership, direction, and management for the Performance Improvement and Infection Control Departments. Responsible for developing and implementing a plan for performance improvement initiatives which support the CHS annual operating priorities.


Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Coordinates regulatory reviews and stays abreast of regulatory standards and communicates to management.
  • Works closely with Business Intelligence (BI) and Information Systems to develop and implement BI as an important management tool with real time data.
  • Develops and maintains a system to collect, track, and communicate team data.
  • Works closely with Medical Staff Office to ensure the Performance Improvement department provides aggregate physician data.
