The Sourcing Team supports talent acquisition by proactively identifying and engaging talent, while promoting the employee value proposition and generating interest in joining the organization.  The team builds pipelines of candidates using creative strategies including outreach initiatives, social networking, candidate management platforms, and market research. 


Role Purpose

The Talent Acquisition (TA) Sourcing Specialist will develop and implement innovative research and sourcing strategies to build strong pipelines of candidates for a wide range of specialties across BJC HealthCare. Leverage social media, to attract top talent and build relationships in various markets. Conduct in depth market research to gain a thorough understanding of the marketplace. This position will partner closely with the TA Specialists and leaders to develop and execute sourcing strategies that will align to current and future talent needs. Help BJC make medicine better by sourcing and screening qualified professionals using search engines, job boards, social media, direct sourcing techniques, networking groups and referrals. In addition to the primary responsibility, the Sourcing Specialist will identify and implement best practices to increase the quality of hires while reducing cycle time and cost.


  • Conducts primary research and talent market analysis that identifies and analyzes external market trends by the service area supported. Proactively conducts research and investigate new ideas to execute innovative sourcing strategies. Obtains and compiles competitor and market intelligence data from leads and candidates to enhance the overall recruiting strategy.
  • Utilizes digital tools, social media, online marketing and professional networking to identify and attract top active, passive and diverse talent. Proactively builds candidate pipelines utilizing various sourcing channels, including external job boards, social media, internet search, database search, direct sourcing and resume mining.
  • Develops and maintains accurate records including candidate/customer tracking in sophisticated system, reports and metrics on talent acquisition initiatives while analyzing data to indicate support staffing effectiveness.
  • Develops potential recruiting sources by preparing research strategies, outreach efforts identifying and qualifying sources, including search engines involving Boolean and flip searches, and x-raying, chat rooms, message boards, organization lists, publications, home pages, college and institutes, and job fairs; building personal networks.
  • Sources candidates and coordinates entry of candidate into the application process for the Talent Acquisition Coordinators and Talent Acquisition Specialists.
