Overview


Role Purpose

Responsible for both tactical and strategic initiatives. Tactical support to the Buyer and Buyer Assistant positions. With responsibility for the team meeting its goals. This would involve running and analyzing team metric data. Additionally they will be required to evaluate processes, develop and implement improvement strategies for the Purchasing team throughout the system. They would be expected to provide consultation and guidance to all customers internal and external on matters pertaining to Purchasing. The position would be responsible for creating, overseeing, and supporting Purchasing Process Improvement projects; including planning, project management and progress monitoring, and reporting to cross-functional teams. The position also helps to field/resolve escalated customer service complaints and comments that have an impact on the business. With direct responsibility over a region to be aligned with that of the Distribution and Logistics regions – to support process improvement, customer service issue resolution, and any required training of internal customers – to act as liaison between Purchasing and the facilities which will require visits to their corresponding locations.


Responsibilities

  • Evaluates, facilitates develops, and implements improvement strategies throughout the system for the Purchasing Team with use of metrics, reporting, and analytical data.
  • Creating, overseeing, and supporting Purchasing Process Improvement projects; including planning, project management and progress monitoring, and reporting to cross-functional teams
  • Provide consultation and guidance to leaders and all customers internal and external on matters pertaining to Purchasing; to act as a liaison between Purchasing and the facilities.
  • Tactical support to the Buyer and Buyer Assistant positions including analyzing team metric data and developing plans for their category teams to meet Key Performance Indicators.
  • Collaborate with other Senior Buyers, Supervisor, and Manager to achieve strategic and tactical goals of the department as necessary and all other duties as assigned.
