Role Purpose

Responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and supervising the overall operation of the department support staff and the non-clinical duties of the support staff, semester students, and department volunteers.


  • Identifies and recommends optimal staffing levels.
  • Assists with researching, evaluating, selecting, and implementing systems which improve efficiency of work unit operations.
  • Assists with researching, evaluating, selecting and implementing a system for maximizing reimbursement, including oversight of insurance authorization, patient financial education, and auditing billing practices. Acts as a liaison with the finance department to oversee and update the addition/deletion of charge codes as needed..
  • Assists with the build and standardization of scheduling, registration and billing applications, including current systems and future applications.
  • Manages scheduling and support service functions and equipment support in conjunction with the clinicians.
  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
