Boone Hospital Center is a 394-bed full service hospital located in Columbia, MO. It is a regional referral center located in the center of the state. The hospital provides progressive healthcare programs, services, and technology to people in 26 mid-Missouri counties. Although the hospital is full service, areas in which Boone Hospital Center excels are cardiology, neurology, oncology, surgical, obstetrical services, and numerous other specialties. The hospital maintains a 24-hour emergency center with hospital-based ambulance service and a helipad for incoming emergency air transportation.  Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Boone Hospital Center has been certified as a "Magnet Hospital" by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

The Human Resources Department is dedicated to ensuring that Boone Hospital is an excellent place to work and receive healthcare. The department provides services to support this mission in the area of recruitment, employee relations, policy interpretation, organizational effectiveness, performance management, leadership development, strategic planning, and employee communications.


Role Purpose

Promotes the safety and well-being of all customers and maintains optimal staffing by identifying and acquiring talented employees, both internally and externally.


  • Manages the entire life-cycle recruiting process from request to fill a position to closing of qualified candidates.
  • Identifies and maintains qualified applicant pools to include diverse, internal, and external populations utilizing various sources and modalities.
  • Collaborates with other department members and leadership regarding staffing plans and management of activities related to internal mobility.
  • Participates on talent acquisition teams, programs, and projects in support of business objectives.
  • Conducts onboarding activities, including reference and employment verification, criminal background review, pre-employment screening scheduling, accurate clearance for new hires attending new employee orientation.
