Role Purpose

The Technology Innovation Engineer develops proof-of-concept and prototypes to help illustrate approaches to technology and solve business problems. The Technology Innovation Engineer reports directly to the IT Director for Strategy and Innovation. They will be responsible for applying industry best practices and techniques to design, develop, test, deploy, support and maintain complex java applications based on business requirements using approved technologies and coding standards.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for identifying and applying industry best practices, techniques and building/maintaining custom web applications and enterprise API’s used by both internal and external users with a focus on providing custom content solutions across a wide variety of functional use cases.
  • Provide technical support for solution design and build for changes in the BJC IT environment; provide technical input and guidance to the Solution Architects in the selection of solution options.
  • Responsible for designing innovative technology solutions to support enterprise systems. This includes providing oversight of the supplier or internal development team in development of detailed technical designs and provide guidance on operationalizing next generation of technologies. Proven DevOps automation experience and continuous integration/continuous delivery.
  • Serve as a technical lead, to implement new generation of IT services such as cloud, data and digital strategies. This also includes API management.
  • Support research, planning, and recommendation of software and system choices to meet business needs.
