Role Purpose

Responsible for collegewide adoption of academic technologies and the utilization of academic technologies best practices for all stakeholders. The Academic Technology Specialist II reports to the Director of Simulation and Instructional Technology.


Responsibilities

  • Lead collegewide adoption of different academic technologies and systems; provide an environment that allows stakeholders to learn about the college's academic technologies on demand. Communicate with faculty regarding advancements in instructional technology, new tools that are available and how faculty may be able to use these resources in their courses.
  • Manage academic technology projects; develop project plans, execute project plans, close project plans; and communicate project progress with appropriate stakeholders. Supports faculty to implement academic designs, methodologies and technologies appropriate to course or program content, context, and format.
  • Collaborate with different stakeholders to ensure academic technologies are align with the college's strategic goals; share findings with the Director.
  • Lead and participate in collegewide implementation and adoption of online teaching and learning best practices that lead to positive student learning outcomes. Seeks opportunities to exchange innovative ideas and integrate those ideas into existing service to enhance student success.
  • Serve as the system administrator for different academic systems such as: Canvas, Argos, Digital Measures, ATI, enterprise course evaluation software, and others. Develops tools and templates for academic technology applications and services. Participates in the evaluation selection, implementation and subsequent maintenance of new academic technology products and services.
