Role Purpose

Manages the day-to-day operations of the Center for Practice Excellence. Facilitates the design and delivery of quality evidence-based education, staff development, practice, and performance improvement programs. Responsible for the development, implementation, achievement, and sustainment of department initiatives that align with and support achievement of organizational goals and initiatives. Ensures the inculcation of the dimensions of Magnet at BJH.


Responsibilities

  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Manages individuals including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages and evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans.
  • Manages the operations of the Center for Practice Excellence and collaboration with other departments. Supports and assists in the growth of existing or new businesses/programs.
  • Ensures the design and implementation of appropriate evidence based programs and practices for the organization. Ensures compliance with departmental polices, regulatory requirements, and professional standards. Guides and directs organizational nursing policy and procedure development, review and revision.
  • Provides oversight and leadership for performance improvement activities and nurse sensitive indicator outcomes. Researches, evaluates, selects and implements systems which improve efficiency of work unit operations.
  • Monitors and improves the performance of the department including financial, employee and customer satisfaction.
