Role Purpose

The Asset Manager is responsible for ensuring that assets are accurately defined, recorded, and updated, and that the proper accountabilities and controls are in place (internally and externally) to prevent and manage risks associated with the accuracy and completeness of the asset information. The Asset Manager reports to the Manager of the Configuration and Asset Management Team and is responsible for assisting with Supplier audits, and assuring compliance with contracted terms within software and hardware agreements with respect to licenses allocations/entitlements for use.


Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and governance/compliance with the processes required to manage the inventory of all assets (Hardware and Software) within the IT landscape, and provide status reports on the inventory and any proposed changes on a scheduled basis, and perform audits of internal teams and suppliers.
  • Ensure the proper accountabilities and controls are in place (internally and externally) to prevent and manage risks, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations, and avoid software usage/entitlement compliance and audit issues.
  • Assist in implementing and managing the processes and tools required to assure accurate and comprehensive management of IT assets, and the status of those assets with respect to currency of support, license allocation and entitlements.
  • Establish highly effective relations with the Release Manager, Delivery Manager, PMO, and the Business / IT Functional streams to coordinate modifications to, and the accuracy of, the assets represented in the associated tracking tools
  • Drive process improvements that will improve overall efficiency, accuracy and completeness of the information on IT assets, and manage the on-going risk exposure and mitigation associated with audits by Suppliers related to the use and ownership of IT assets.
