Role Purpose

Responsible for assisting the Clinical Services Manager in the management of the delivery and outcomes of psychiatric services for patients with co-occurring behavioral health and medical conditions. Provides supervision and oversight of clinic operations and effectiveness. Collaborates with external community agencies and all other Independence Center programs to coordinate care of clinic patients while aligning with Independence Center values and philosophy.


Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Visible and present daily for facilitation of patient flow as well as patient and provider satisfaction. Available for immediate and timely response to barriers or obstacles to daily workflows. Creates an environment where employee engagement and feedback facilitates positive change.
  • Interacts and collaborates regularly with physicians/providers. Works with manager to provide direction and oversight of effective schedules, efficient clinic work flow and patient flow, establishing and maintaining a cooperative, relationship of trust with providers. Brings significant concerns to Manager.
  • Responds to patient complaints; analyzes and determines necessity to elevate the complaint based on situation, potential risk, effective resolution, clinical care concerns, etc.
  • Provides leadership to direct reports in the execution of work plans and long and short term goals. Implements and completes program goals. Monitors data to address quality measures, trends or potential improvement opportunities. Ensures all clinic operations are in compliance with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA, the Community Psychiatric Rehabilitation regulations from the Department of Mental Health, Medicaid, Medicare, Managed Care, as well as the accreditation standards from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
  • Implements infrastructure and changes to support processes and systems. Works with IT to identify computer hardware and software needs in support of the clinic.
