Role Purpose

Responsible for all aspects of perioperative services operational support, including strategic, capital and FTE planning, clinical partnerships and agreements, and space and facility redesign and planning. Uses lean methodology to develop and implement operational processes to support perioperative services. Works closely with executive team to effectively plan, design and operationalize complex projects that impact and improve clinical operations. Supports department planning for emergency preparedness protocols and procedures.


  • Tracks needs for capital equipment and analyzes and collects data to determine utilization demand and need for critical equipment. Creates short and long term plans for acquisitions and/or replacement of capital equipment.
  • Provides support and serves as liaison with Hospital construction and design teams to operationalize clinical and non-clinical space redesign and expansions. Maintains strong relationships with sponsors and stakeholders through effective communication and collaboration and project tracking. Effectively tracks projects through analysis, creation of dashboards, and assessment of risks/issues.
  • Ensures, through direction and coordination of activities, the goals and strategies of the strategic plans are developed, prioritized and implemented in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, outside departments and leaders/business directors and hospital administration. Manages clinical agreements and contracts to enhance inpatient and outpatient services; policies, procedures and protocols; supply chain; clinical outcomes; patient experience; growth and capacity planning; and financial performance.
  • Provides leadership to project teams in the interpretation, development and implementation of projects. Management of developing functional and business requirements, work breakdown structure, timeline, dependencies, milestones, project approval and charter documents.
  • Develops/executes improvement programs using solid data/analytics and lean methodologies that directly impact key metrics related to people, service, growth/innovation, quality and margin. Monitors and develops program contracts and scorecards to support analysis for use in mission support agreements, medical directorships, physician co-management, operational excellence and performance/care improvement.
