Role Purpose

Responsible for the general management of supply chain logistics functions not limited to; inventory management, receiving, distribution, par management, and linen operations for multiple hospitals and outpatient facilities. Responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling all group personnel and activities at specific entities within the framework and programs established by the System. Serves as strategic member of hospital leadership teams and is responsible for logistics operations during real world contingencies and exercises with city, county, state, and government agencies. Also responsible for the continuous tactical enhancement and integration of processes which yield optimum service responsiveness to System entities and departments, while minimizing costs associated with the receiving and distribution functions.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with user departments the most effective quantity, frequency of delivery, and storage of supplies on a scheduled basis.
  • Coordinates with hospital executive teams and department leaders to effectively manage supply spend and operational effectiveness at hospitals within their control.
  • Organizes and manages the assigned supply distribution areas and all their related functions and systems within a Hospital Service Organization including one of more geographically separated entities
  • Responsible for the operational effectiveness of multiple supply inventory management systems ensuring accurate and timely inventory valuation for finance and executive leadership
  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
