Role Purpose

The Architecture Strategy & Innovation Director will provide strategic and thought leadership in establishing the next generation of IT services and in defining new ways to develop and implement technology to solve BJC business challenges. He/she will synthesize BJC, industry, market and technology trends and recommend the IT priorities, timelines and roadmaps to formulate IT strategy.


Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Provide strategic and thought leadership in establishing the next generation of IT services and in defining new ways to develop and implement technology to solve BJC business challenges.
  • Responsible for managing evaluations and proof-of-concept trials for emerging technologies to assure efficacy of solutions in meeting strategic business objectives while aligning with BJC technology roadmaps (or adjusting those accordingly).
  • Lead a team to evaluate and incubate emerging technology solutions and services that drive innovation through technology investments in support of both strategic and market priorities. Also responsible for defining and driving the digital healthcare, consumerization and personalization strategy for BJC.
  • Determine the 3-5 year IT strategy and investment priorities to serve as the roadmap for continued IT and BJC transformation.
  • Collaborate closely with Director of Data Architecture & Analytics Platforms and the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure that long-term digital priorities and innovative technologies are considered in their respective roadmaps.
