Role Purpose

The Academic Portfolio and Business Manager will oversee the academically-focused innovation activities of the Innovation Lab. In addition, he or she will oversee the Inovation Lab’s business functions including human resources matters, budget planning and management, and vendor and contract management.


Responsibilities

  • Identification, development, and oversight of academically-focused innovation activities.
  • Oversight of innovation grant program, including development of its structure, policies, and processes; solicitation of proposals; convening of reviewer panels and management of proposal selection; management of awarded grants and responsibility of their timely and effective completion and evaluation.
  • Oversight of Sling Health medical student entrepreneurial program, including development of its structure, policies, and processes; advising of Sling Health partners on Lab strategic priorities; connection of Sling Health project teams to relevant clinical and operational leadership; facilitation of all Lab support to program; primary interface with medical school leadership.
  • Oversight of Lab grant activities, including providing Lab support for grant proposals, assisting with writing of grant proposals, scanning RFPs of federal, state, and private funders for relevant opportunities
  • In conjunction with Lab administrative coordinator, oversee Lab business functions including budget creation and tracking, financial management, and vendor/contract management.
