Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College is a private nursing college that enrolls over 600 students in its baccalaureate, masters and doctoral degree programs. Role Purpose

Under the general direction of the Vice Dean for Finance and Administration, provides accounting and financial reporting expertise to the College, manages accounting operations including general ledgers, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting, facilitates preparation of the annual Budget and Forecast and bi-annual Capital Budget by the Dean’s Cabinet, ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, accounting principles, and policies, and manages support staff.


Responsibilities

  • Lead effort in creating and establishing standard cost allocation methods for all academic programs.
  • Prepare various regulatory reporting requirements including audit, tax, program cost reporting, and surveys (IPEDS). Liaise with external and internal auditors. Prepare financial statements and retrieve data or data-mine as appropriate to meet auditors’ objectives.
  • Provide strategic direction, leadership, and oversight of financial operations for multiple departments.
  • Ensures the accurate and timely processing of accounting transactions in compliance with federal, state, College, and BJC HealthCare regulations, policies, and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Coordinates preparation of the College’s annual Operating Budget and Projection, and biannual Capital Budget. Monitors “Actual” Revenue and Expense vs. “Budget” monthly, and researches material variances
  • Manage individuals including but not limited to: hire, train, assign work, manage and evaluate performance, conduct professional development plans to ensure that the productivity and actions of that group meet and/or support the operational goals of the College as established by College leadership.
