Role Purpose

Communicates to and supports Center for Clinical Excellence leadership in the alignment of CCE project portfolio with BJC strategic objectives and is responsible for establishing, monitoring, and managing the overall CCE portfolio of project work. Uses portfolio knowledge to help inform and advise CCE leaders on strategic initiatives. Responsible for developing and maintaining project management standards for the department; acts as the central point of intake for all CCE initiatives and uses experience and knowledge to scope and triage project as appropriate across CCE workstreams. Responsible for aligning CCE strategic imperatives with operational goals and initiatives, while providing direction for load leveling across projects.


  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Establishes and maintains a framework and methodology for project portfolio management across the enterprise. Defines, implements, maintains, and communicates program management procedures and processes to enable work streams to deliver against the defined project goals and scope on time and on budget. Defines, implements and monitors metrics and KPIs to report project status and ensure ongoing strategic alignment with short and long-term business objectives.
  • Supports the CCE leadership team by facilitating the process to identify, select and approve projects in support of BJC's strategic initiatives. Responsible for program scope, change, issue and risk management; Identifying and managing risks, changes, issues and scope. Facilitates mitigation through relevant stakeholders and governance processes.
  • Establishes, maintains and communicates best practices across the enterprise as they relate to project, program and portfolio management including standardized frameworks, tools and operational processes related to project management, collaboration, knowledge management, resource planning, vendor management, and dashboards.
