Boone Hospital Center is a 394-bed full service hospital located in Columbia, MO. It is a regional referral center located in the center of the state. The hospital provides progressive healthcare programs, services, and technology to people in 26 mid-Missouri counties. Although the hospital is full service, areas in which Boone Hospital Center excels are cardiology, neurology, oncology, surgical, obstetrical services, and numerous other specialties. The hospital maintains a 24-hour emergency center with hospital-based ambulance service and a helipad for incoming emergency air transportation.  Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Boone Hospital Center has been certified as a "Magnet Hospital" by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
 

The Patient Safety, Clinical Quality and Infection Prevention Department, through collaboration and partnership with others, focuses on ensuring safe, effective, evidence-based health care to all of our patients. Patient safety is our top priority with the clinical quality and infection prevention arms enabling this goal. Our Clinical Quality efforts are evidence based and derived from internal and external authorities such as CMS, TJC, NQF, AHRQ and the BJC Center for Clinical Excellence. We strive to incorporate these evidence-based standards into everyday clinical practice. Ongoing monitoring of clinical measures is performed to ensure compliance and to identify opportunities for improvement.

Role Purpose

Responsible for leading administration and management in understanding and complying with Joint Commission, CMS and other accreditation, licensure and regulatory standards. Has supervisory responsibility for organizational Regulatory Compliance and is accountable for the related strategic development, implementation and oversight.. Responsible for analyzing data from various sources to provide expert consultation regarding organizational and departmental interventions to facilitate achievement and maintenance of accreditation, licensure and regulatory requirements. Directs administration, management and delegated staff members through the development and maintenance of policies and procedures to support organizational compliance with accreditation, licensure and regulatory standards.


Responsibilities

  • Supports the development, implementation and sustainment of evidence-based practice standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Develops and manages hospital-wide Regulatory Compliance Program, including providing coaching to staff throughout the process.
  • Develops and implements strategies that ensure the organization maintains a state of perpetual readiness for any and all reviews by regulatory agencies and to achieve a level of quality and services that exceed regulatory requirements.
  • Provides education, coaching and assistance to project leaders through the regulatory and accreditation processes, methodologies and tools.
  • Provides hospital and medical staff with current information regarding regulatory standards and survey processes.

    Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree

    Experience

  • 5-10 years
