Role Purpose

The Industrial Housekeeper is an environmental services worker who transports bed, equipment and supplies throughout the hospital and checks and monitors trash chutes. Responsible for daily housekeeping services as assigned, using procedures as outlined by the hospital or service organization.


Responsibilities

  • Transports and/or lifts housekeeping equipment, patient beds, trash, linen and other special deliveries throughout hospital campus.
  • Operates AGVs and other equipment according to established processes, keeping equipment clean and functional. Reports defects to supervisor.
  • Maintains trash chute rooms and carts.
  • Handles hazardous and infectious waste properly and responds to emergency spills according to procedure.
