Role Purpose

The Senior Writer is responsible for producing and/or editing varied documents that optimize giving to the Foundation, foster high-level stewardship of its donors and ensure consistent brand messaging, while meeting the highest standards of quality for style and syntax. This position collaborates closely with Foundation and Hospital staff representing fundraising, marketing, events, administration and program areas.


Responsibilities

  • Writes and edits Foundation communications for a variety of media, including print, electronic, and press releases.
  • Creates general and personalized stewardship reports to donors on use of Foundation funds by the hospital and School of Medicine.
  • Supports the events program by writing scripts, background and briefing notes, program copy and other marketing, solicitation or stewardship materials.
  • Drafts personalized major donor correspondence for hospital leadership and advises on donors for special outreach.
  • Periodically prepares grant proposals, including working with the hospital and fundraising staff to organize copy, budgets, and correspondence.
