Treasury has overall responsibility for all system funds and securities under the general guidance of the Assistant Treasurer and the Finance Committee of the System Board. This group oversees the day to day cash management, including establishment and maintenance of proper controls over daily cash transactions of BJC HealthCare and the cashiering functions at BJC entities within the Washington University Medical Center. The group is responsible for managing activities and providing technical assistance to the Assistant Treasurer and CFO related to bond issues and other long term debt obligations of the system.

Role Purpose

To manage the overall banking and cash management of the organization. Responsible for ensuring receipts and disbursements are effectively and efficiently processed through the banking system and the required reporting thereafter so that our finance/accounting staff can post to the ledger.


Responsibilities

  • Manages the bank accounts and day to day cash management of the organization.
  • Coordinates banking needs with appropriate parties in Revenue Cycle, Accounts Payable, Finance and Accounting.
  • Manages the credit card processing, acceptance, reporting and related PCI compliance of the organization.
  • Works closely with banking partners to identify best products and practices.
  • Provides support and oversight of processing and balancing all wire transfers. Ensures proper internal control and timeliness of wire transfers being made to (from) BJC operating accounts.
