Role Purpose

Establish and maintain a house-wide training program for patient access services employees. Initiate quality assurance activities to track and enhance the effectiveness of all patient access processes.


Responsibilities

  • Creates daily monitoring tools to determine registration accuracy and feedback to eliminate errors. Develops a learning environment to ensure accuracy in daily work remains consistent and is sustained..
  • Coordinates initial and ongoing education/training for patient access employees. Develops, schedules, prepares written material and presents educational programs which include new employee orientation, policy and procedures, regulatory/compliance guidelines and continuing education efforts.
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of insurance, regulatory and compliance requirements. Creates and updates reference tools. Ensures any changes to requirements is adequate communicated to the staff and other areas of the hospital, as necessary.
  • Leads department quality improvement by coordinating quality review activities, data collection, documentation and reports. Identifies educational opportunities based on analysis of data. Develops quick reference materials. Provides patient access staff with ongoing feedback and individual training to enhance performance.
  • Reinforces training and ensures updates regarding changes to procedures including ongoing communicate to staff. Performs quality audits and reports to leadership.
