Boone Hospital Center is a 394-bed full service hospital located in Columbia, MO. It is a regional referral center located in the center of the state. The hospital provides progressive healthcare programs, services, and technology to people in 26 mid-Missouri counties. Although the hospital is full service, areas in which Boone Hospital Center excels are cardiology, neurology, oncology, surgical, obstetrical services, and numerous other specialties. The hospital maintains a 24-hour emergency center with hospital-based ambulance service and a helipad for incoming emergency air transportation.  Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Boone Hospital Center has been certified as a "Magnet Hospital" by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.


The Boone Hospital Center Pain Management Clinic offers the most comprehensive treatment for Chronic and Acute Pain Management within the Mid-Missouri region.  Our physicians offer services ranging from medication management to ultrasound or fluoroscopy guided injections of the joints and spine, nerve blocks,  Radiofrequency Ablation, Cryotherapy Ablation, Spinal Cord Stiumulators, Intrathecal Pain Pump management and Kyphoplasty for vertebral compression fractures.  Some common diagnosis that we treat are chronic and acute back pain, headache and neck pain, diabetic neuropathy pain, post-laminectomy syndrome, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, Cancer Pain, Postherpectic Neuralgia Pain and Fibromyalgia.

Role Purpose

Manages the operational, clinical and personnel functions of the clinic. Provides oversight for the day- to-day operations of the clinic to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the clinic. Provides leadership and direction in accordance with system and departmental goals and objectives for both Pain Management Clinic and Bariatric Services.


  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with physicians.
  • Manages the daily operations of the clinic and integrates services within the work unit and with other departments.
  • Collaborates with Leadership to maintain standard regulatory requirements and applicable laws for all divisions of the agency.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.

  • ICD - 9 Coding - 1 year or more
  • Billing - 1 year or more
